Encouraging culture change at the financial heart of Europe’s largest pension fund

ABP department Finance expresses a desire to play a stronger role within the organisation and contribute to a more pro-active, market-oriented culture at ABP. The Department employs some of the world’s finest financial experts, who are undisputed in their field but not necessarily natural leaders. Finance calls on Krauthammer to give the department’s leaders and managers the skills and tools with which to realise their ambition.

Soft skills for corporate finance experts

Krauthammer and Kempen & Co worked closely on designing a training programme for the senior advisors and directors of the Corporate Finance department. Traditionally, these professionals have found strength in their quantitative skills and performance orientation. Now, they need additional skills in interpersonal communication.

Management Development for sales-oriented car lease company

Athlon’s ambition is to become one of Europe’s 10 largest lease companies. Athlon France turned to Krauthammer for a management development training for its 25 middle managers, as part of its efforts to contribute to the following goals: to achieve a return on equity of 20% and to increase productivity by 200 vehicles per FTE.

Supporting the introduction of a new performance management system

AEGON decides to implement a new performance system and train managers in conversation skills and invites Krauthammer and other agencies to submit a proposal. Krauthammer, however, challenges AEGON’s solution to the problem by looking at the bigger picture. AEGON accepts Krauthammer’s incisive analysis and abandons its original training plan to only train managers in conversation skills. Instead...

People development supports strategic change

Amlin Corporate Insurance (ACI, previously known as Fortis) designed a process to put three sets of complementary demands at the heart of the company: business driven and people development, long-term vision and short-term success and autonomous business units showing corporate discipline. To support the change process, ACI asks Krauthammer to design, develop and implement a series of training programmes for the management team, business unit manager and team leaders.

Effective relationship management

In the current market situation our client faces many different challenges. Based on the newly set corporate strategy some challenging objectives were set to double the revenue and to increase customer satisfaction by 15% over the next 3 years. Internally, the organisation faces backlogs in their back office administrative processes, a low employee satisfaction rate and inefficient and ineffective sales & operation processes. In order to reach these objectives Krauthammer started the project at the Front Office, the (internal) sales department.

Enabling 1+1 = 3

Our client is a Dutch financial consulting firm. The net result over the last year was nil and the predicted growth had yet failed to appear. With a lot of in house specialist (market) expertise and an enormous market share to gain through a group network, our client has a high potential for a successful future. However, productivity was low and the organisation had difficulties to deliver at a constant high quality level. Moreover, the organisation was perceived by its clients as a tax consultant or accountant, but to very little extent as a partner in broad financial matters.

Sales excellence

The ambition of our client is to obtain a substantial market position, not necessarily in market share but in performance. To realise this ambition a transformation programme has been launched with 6 focus areas. One of these focus areas is to improve commercial performance.
Our client has asked Krauthammer to design and implement a Sales Excellence programme with the commercial performance improvement as objective.

Who are we? Are we the same people we were yesterday? How different are we from others? Questions surrounding an organisation’s identity become very relevant in turbulent times.
