Facilitating efficient meetings
forging synergies, generating energies

“Like so many things that go terribly wrong, it started as a reasonable idea. “Let’s sit down and talk about it,” someone said innocently long ago in a candlelit workplace, and the meeting was born. From that humble beginning came today’s multi-PowerPoint monster, the workday’s black hole, sucking precious time and energy into its ravenous jaws.”1
What Hubert B. Herring from the New York Times describes ranks among the main frustrations of executives all over the world; who dedicate from 1 to 8 hours per week to meetings. 75% say these could be seriously more effective. How can we transform meetings into inspiring and energising milestones? This 3-day programme will equip the meeting leader with solutions.

The participant will develop the skills and competences necessary to become a great meeting facilitator, someone who pleasantly demands clarity, gently follows through towards solid decisions, is playful in a serious game, is an opinion leader without being opinionated, shares instructions which cannot be misunderstood, reacts by not reacting (self-control), values quality and process equally, is the charming enemy… S/he will also learn to optimise meeting preparation and design, and manage conflicts and disturbances around the table and outside the room.
The programme is constructed around the five dimensions of the facilitator as:
- the “Architect” (designing)
- the ”Moderator” (chairing)
- the “Monitor” (controlling)
- the “Mediator” (bridging)
- the “Coach” (enabling)
To optimise the fit with individual needs from participants, it blends several training techniques:
- A 361° online assessment tool, the Facilitator Competence Profile
- An intake interview between each participant and their trainer around their personal challenges
- A 3-day training over 6 weeks (2 consecutive days followed by 6 weeks for application on the job and a last training day)
- A conference call between the 2 training blocks for collective sparring around on-the-job progresses
